My new novel, Finding Parker, defines what love is and should be to all of us, and does so in a manner that will leave you speechless.

Author Samantha Knight’s review from Amazon does a fabulous job of describing what it is the novel accomplishes with the potential readers.

Her review:

“Life is easy, all we have to do to live it, is breathe”

One of my favorite quotes throughout this brilliant novel. I am the type of person it takes a lot to evict any real emotion, or feelings if you will. Only two books have ever made me stop and re-evaluate my life and the choices I have made thus far. Broken People and this one, oddly enough both written by Scott Hildreth. I cried, I laughed, I wondered and most of all I felt.

“You should live everyday as if you’re going to die at midnight”

My new words to live by. Throughout this novel Parker searches for nothing more than what EVERYONE wants family, love and a since of belonging and he finds it. In the oddest way.

“Simply existing satisfies me as long as you are part of the existing”

That saying is something I am sure everyone longs to hear. That someone is happy simply because you exist in their world. While reading this novel I found how important ‘finding your other half’ really is. Not only to you, but to those closest to you as well. The love Parker finds is something I to wish to find someday.

“Life’s greatest treasures will never be held, purchased, or bartered for. They will only ever be felt.”

I knew this book was going to be nothing short of amazing. (I mean come on have you read a bad Hildreth book yet? No? Okay then) I had a preconceived feeling about how this book was going to go and it was nothing like I thought it was going to be. It was so much better. This book is truly a treasure and I felt Every. Single. Word. This book had it all, the good, the bad and the extremely heart breaking parts of life.

If there was ever a novel to start your life long Hildreth obsession, Finding Parker is that book.

Book Review: Broken People, by Scott Hildreth is reviewed by author Jay Squires- “Simply the best mainstream fiction novel I’ve read this year..”

Jay Squires reviewed Broken People on Amazon last night. His review was outstanding…and a testament to the level of novel that this book is. Again, simply stated, if you’re reading a book, and it isn’t Broken People, you’re making a mistake.

REVIEW BY JAY SQUIRES

“Broken People” is simply the best mainstream novel I’ve read this year.  It is mainstream fiction at its finest.  The story-lines unfold from the viewpoints of multiple characters, each one being explored to the full extent of his or her depth of emotion, intelligence and brokenness while weaving the unique thread of that character into the warp and woof of the finished fabric.

Don’t expect the fabric to be beautiful, or even pleasing.

It is neither.

These are broken people.  And the threads of their lives are split and frayed, one moment dazzlingly brilliant, the next moment faded; threads combine: the weakest point of one with the borrowed strength of the other then wound together and pulled through.

FAT KID’s brokenness may repulse you.  Good!  That’s what he wants … while he exercises his own peculiar brand of genius.

MICHELLE, of Egyptian heritage, is broken by the collision of her independence against the crush of her family’s cultural inflexibility.

DAVID is broken by the conflict between his sexual identity problems and his retired marine father’s homophobia.

MARC & BRITNEY are two broken people made whole by their love–yet torn apart again by family and society.

Broken people, all, each touching the other. The threads of their lives are delicately and lovingly pulled through the loom by Scott Hildreth’s creative genius to produce the fabric of this marvelous novel.

A spot at the top of Amazon’s Bestseller list is reserved for “Broken People”!

Jay, thank you again. It pleases me to have someone of your level of experience pleased in my writing…

In one month, Broken People has received (33) five star reviews. (7) on Goodreads, and (26) on Amazon.

Broken People is, by far, one of the most uplifting, feel good, must read books of this year, if not of this decade.

This book was written for teens, new adults, and adults. I purposely wrote it to be able to be read, enjoyed, and applied to all that red it, regardless of age. Tremendous thought and work went into developing a novel that could be read, enjoyed, and absorbed by all that read it.

The reviews speak for themselves. In three weeks, quotes began to show up on Google from the book. Reviews from around the world (5 star). Praise from churches, organizations, veterans, teens,…

While you’re able, get a copy this afternoon for $0.99, I will raise the price to $5.99 as soon as 500 are downloaded. This may take a day. It may take two days.

If the free weekend is an indication, it may take a few hours.

I have already adjusted the price on Amazon to 99 cents, as soon as Amazon updates, be ready and get your copy while you can….

New Adult fiction like no other. If there was a book that you knew, literally knew…going into reading it, that it would make you cry, make you think, and make you reflect on yourself as a whole, would you read it? If this book had the power of any other book that you have ever read. Any. If the book was grand enough to make you sit back and say, “Wow. I think I need to read that again…” and you immediately started over, would you read it?

Broken People, by Scott Hildreth is that book. You will, without a doubt see yourself in this book, you will. It is an amazing piece, and has an amazing story to tell.

Read this book. You will not be anything but amazed.

If someone makes you think, keep them. If someone makes you feel, keep them..

There are so many quotes form the book Broken People, by Scott Hildreth. There is a reason the reviews are stating that it is a true “Must Read”.

It is something, as the readers state, when finished, that you continue to experience long after the book is done, It’s a book you come back to. You high light it. You re-read it. You cherish it.

“True love is not something found, rather [sic] something encountered. You can’t go out and look for it. The person you marry and the person you love could easily be two different people. So have a beautiful life while waiting for God to bring along your once-in-a-lifetime love. Don’t allow yourself to settle for anything less than them. Stop worrying about who you’re going to marry because God’s already on the front porch watching your grandchildren play.” Broken People, by Scot Hildreth

22 veterans a day commit suicide. TWENTY TWO A DAY!!!!!!

Hello. I am Scott Hildreth, author of Broken People. It is a book written by a suicide survivor, intended to thwart the thoughts of suicide. One of the main characters is also a bulimic teen, which is a huge issue in the USA today. It is an easy book to read, and an impossible book to forget. It takes 5-6 hours to read, and when finished, without a doubt, will make more difference in your life than any other book you’ve read…without a doubt. Reviews are unanimous, and it is a 5 star MUST READ. Several readers are claiming (in their review) it saved their life.

I respectfully request that you read this book,  it isn’t just a book about suicide or suicidal thoughts. It has received praise for that, because that is one of the elements in the book.  There are many other elements in the book. It is, when complete, a feel good self-help type of book. It is a book that has a little of all of us in it, because in some respect, we are all broken. It can be read on Kindle, and ipod, ipad, iphone, droid, tablet, or PC. This allows immediate reading, regardless of whether or not you have a Kindle platform. Kindle viewers are free on Amazon.com

This book is quickly becoming critically acclaimed in the three weeks it has been available. It is now being adopted by the Institute of Suicidology as a required read. Everyone that has read it and reviewed it says the same thing, they are changed. It hits hard, it hits deep, and it forces the reader to understand there is a means of recovery, and it is within. I, personally, have received therapy for my PTSD, and I can say this without hesitation, this book can do, in 6 hours, what ten years of therapy cannot.

An Indian author, Bhavya Kaushik, wrote a critically acclaimed novel that received praise a year ago: The Other Side of The Bed. He read the book a week ago, and claimed that it changed his mind, and saved his life. It’s that powerful. (link below)

Imagine this: what if this book is all that I say. What if that one veteran, reading this, changes his/her mind and DOESN’T pull the trigger…

Please, take time to read the reviews. Take time to read the book. And please, spread the word. Because this book was written for one reason. To change lies.

BROKEN PEOPLE
I had a girlfriend, at 21, commit suicide while I was away. I have lived with that guilt forever. Several friends and family members have done the same thing. Throughout my life, I have met, talked to, and attempted to assist anyone that appeared to be broken, as long as they were willing to help themselves. I wrote this book to show how people feel. To allow the reader to feel, truly feel and associate with the characters. This is a book of feelings. Characters are depressed, angry, sad, elated, full of fear, confused, frustrated, hysterical, jealous, and lonely.

I stopped drinking a few decades ago. In my drinking, and in my not, I have found many other broken people. I frequent coffee houses the way that most everyone else frequents a bar. In these places, I meet more broken people. My exposure to these people made me want to write this book.

This book is fiction. It is a made-up story of five people. Five people that have different problems, different lies, and different issues. It’s a story about losing. Winning. And, ultimately, finding yourself. It is told through the voices of all five people. One of these people, the main character, is an overbearing asshole. He is vulgar, he is obese, and he is always talking thrash to whoever he encounters. He hates people. But he loves to help people that he wants to. He meets people. He encounters a lot of people he doesn’t help. But he encounters these people, and their lives are changed. His life and his mind, throughout this process, changes as well.

A suicidal girl is one. She is bulimic.

Another is somewhat of an intelligent dreamer. She is the heroine in the book.

A homosexual son of a former Marine war veteran. He can’t tell his dad he is gay.

And, the romantic. He comes from a home without a father. He has issues of his own, but, overall, he’s a great guy.

The reviews of this book are remarkable. Remarkable. Everyone agrees, this is a book that you must read. You must. It will, without a doubt, be one of the best reads you ever had. Additionally, it will have a greater, a deeper, and a longer lasting effect than anything else you’ve read or seen.

This is New Adult fiction like no other. If there was a book that you knew, literally knew…going into reading it, that it would make you cry, make you think, and make you reflect on yourself as a whole, would you read it? If this book had the most power of any other book that you have ever read. Any. If the book was grand enough to make you sit back and say, “Wow. I think I need to read that again…” and you immediately started over, would you read it?

Broken People, by Scott Hildreth is that book. You will, without a doubt see yourself in this book, in at least one of the characters, you will. It is an amazing piece, and has an amazing story to tell.

Read this book. You will not be anything but amazed.

Broken People, by Scott Hildreth continues to get reviews that come in, at the rate of a few a day. They are all (5) star, except 3. Total, there are 32 five star reviews, and 3 (4) star.

Yesterdays review by 1Booklover was great. 5 stars. She stated that she was afraid that she couldn’t even do the book justice in her review. She stated that it was a “Must read” for parents and teens alike.

A must read. That, of course, means that it is their recommendation that you “must” read it.

This book was written with the intent of any age (above 14)  being able to read it and have it effect them. It actually crawls within you, and flows through your veins like an infection. The characters are all real, raw, and full of life. The book is written from the perspective of the five characters, individually, in first person. The story unfolds, and the each character’s life is somehow tied to the other. In the end, they are all tied together.

This book is similar to Thirteen Reasons Why meets The Perks of Being a Wallflower.

Be an adult, or be a teen…or anything in between, you will leave this book a different person. A richer person. It will, at minimum, leave you thinking about who you are, and what got you to this point in life. Additionally, it will have you second guessing what it is that you intend to do with the rest of your life.

If you are a parent of a teenagers, or have children in high school, you must read this book. You must. It will change the way you look at them. When you’re done, have them read it.

You will be forever grateful you did.
